Advice: Usable Rotor housing /end plate?
Hi, I am pretty new to the board but I picked up a dirt cheap 94 FD with a blown motor that has become my latest obsession. I haven't even driven in it yet but I am already in love with the car.....so anyways I find myself in the middle of a rebuild and need some advice on these rotor housings/intermediate housings that I got from a potential donor motor (my originals aren't worth using). The rotor housing has some slight scoring after the plug and the intermediate housing has some wear/corrosion at the bottom and some grooves that will catch the finger from side seals. Are these usable at all?
Does anyone have examples of questionable rotor housings/intermediate housings that were run with no problems?
Any chance of reconditioning the intermediate housings (lapping)? Anyone have real good housings/ intermediate housings they would like to get rid of or sell?
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Here are some pics..
Thanks,
Chris

fart on a friends head!!!
you really need to go by the manuals specs on that. if it is within the specs you can use it. . . if not, then you need to look into other things. the rotorhousing. . . id be a little afraid. . . any scoring can cause premature failure.
the cast plate. . . those are pits. . . not good. you MIGHT be able to lap those out, but odds are you wont. you might wanna reassemble the motor and send it in for a reman. . . thats always the easiest way around. if youre looking into porting the motor, then just take it apart upon arrival and do it then. . . then replace the gaskets that arent reusable due to cracking it open.
