advice on EWP (Electric water pump) setup
I wanted to confirm a few things for my EWP (Electric water pump) setup that I'm planning on running. I want to run a similar setup to Neutron in this thread. My Setup is for a 13b REW on a haltech R3 ecu, I deleted the AC but I'm keeping power steering. I'm having trouble finding a side mounted alternator bracket; any recommendations would be appreciated. Does a bracket exist that allows me to side mount the alternator, run EWP, and keep power steering?
The list of parts with links:
Meziere water pump
jdl water adapter
Haltech SSR (Solid State Relay) I think this is all I need to control the water pump with the R3 but would need confirmation on this.

Built 2 Apex used to make em. Gave me 25% off future purchases because it was late as hell....now they're closed.
There's some shops in Australia and New Zealand that are making them now though - Franklin Performance and Billet Rotary

I had a meziere ewp on my Ls and burned through 3 of them in a year and threw the stocker back on. If you really want a real ewp that actually works you need to get one of these pierburgs, theyre like a fire hose and can be controlled with a pwm style controller

I've heard good things about Pierburg CWA water pumps from people doing EV swaps. One of the challenges is picking a cooling pump that can flow well against pressure, and it sounds like the Pierburg ones do a good job at this. I've seen it's common to switch to AN fittings instead of traditional hoses, but I think it adds a lot of cost without much gain. I think the factory radiator hoses are pretty large to start with, and it seems there isn't always enough space to fit a big AN wrench near the water pump inlet on the front iron.
The one thing I did like about the meziere pump was the built in thermostat, which will aid with warm up times and not cause any over cooling issues. Is there a clean solution to utilize a thermostat with the Pierburgs CWA pumps? I know this thread exists, but I wanted to know if there was a newer method for utilizing a thermostat with an EWP.
I was looking at the Franklin Performance side mount but they require a 12a cover and it also deletes the Power steering. I’ve been contacting different companies to see if they can custom make something.

I ended up contacting Logan at Defined Autoworks, but he explained to me the machinist he works with to modify the PS bracket to hold the alternator is currently too backed up with work. I'm still currently on the search for something that will work.
Is there a particular reason you are not consider electric PS? If you do that, you could then use the JDL side alternator mount.
Im also consider EWP with Electric Power Steering and Rx8 AC compressor using the JDL bracket and this PS kit, https://epowersteering.com/purchase/product/rx7-fd/ . I also have a R3 ECU.

There's EPS pumps out there from other cars that work as well, and you don't need to send your entire steering column in. The MR2 had an EPS pump that works, Volvo also makes some. People just need to ensure it's not the type of pump that is part of the steering column.
I thought JDL side mount alternator bracket fits the fd3s https://jdlmfg.com/products/side-mou...rnator-bracket

With regards to the EWP, Pierburg CWA400 seems to be the top of the line pump however I think you would need to run power to it directly from the battery as 1 x 25amp HCO won't be able to supply it with enough juice.
