Add'l Injectors - HKS Elbow = WTF?!

Alright, so I got me one of them there fancy HKS AIC III Si 's (good deal - $275), and I have a set of 550 injectors. Now, upon researching a little further, I found that the HKS Elbow with the AI bung's cost $800. That's a big negative on that. Any other ideas? The only thing I know of/can think of is welding bungs to the UIM, and fabing a mini fuel rail, etc.

Anybody else have a better idea?

The older Greddy elbows can be had for relatively cheap -- they have two bungs on them.

You find me a regular greddy elbow, and I'll send you my bunged elbow. I have the Greddy with 2 bungs for additional injectors. PM me if you're interested.

Greddy also sells injector bungs for about $20 each.

It's the aluminum weld-on injector bung. I've used them before on my FC, and they work quite well.

wow...ok...overwhelmed here a little bit.

1. I have a greddy regular elbow.
2. I want the one elbow with the bungs on them that has the little mini fuel rail. So, I just insert the inj., hood up the fuel line, and plug them in.

I don't want to fabricate a rail. Make sense?

Maybe this can narrow down the responses. Thanks for the help fellas.

Confusion over -

Ok - Let's clarify -

http://www.hksusa.com/categories/?id=1931

Here is what I'd ideally like to have...NOT paying $$$

Greddy also used to make one, although I can't find it anywhere anymore. That's also the one I would like to have. However, Paul led me to ATP turbo...they have these -

http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=FUL

Which I think are really cool. Just some braided line, and a "Y" connector away from having fuel.

My total setup I'm trying to run is 650 primary, 1600 secondary, 550 additional.

I have the race block, which is supposed to hold 30psi. I plan on running 20-25 with the T78.

not to hi jack but how would you control these. superAFC or just a throttle switch that would turn them on when more fuel is needed?

Hijack all you like! I have one of these -

http://hksusa.com/products/?id=638&rsku=4361

I'm haven't tried anything with it quite yet...(obviously) I do know that it can be tuned to activate with boost, so, they will only run when the boost passes 20psi. Or, I may cut down on the 1600's a bit, and run all 6 all the time, at a lower duty cycle.

That help?

Well if you don't want to shell out the dough for that, why don't you get something worthwhile like the ground zero LIM, it has 4 injector ports, so you cant throw them in there that way? Its a nice *** LIM too =)

Yes...YES. I totally forgot about that. I'm not sure now. Damnit.

I do kind of like the simplicity of the ATPTurbo bungs. (Not to mention, the set for $130) We shall see.

Thanks for the idea...now I'll just mix that in with the the rest of the garbage floating around in my head.

PLay it safe, I wouldn't do the injectors on the intake port... thats just a personal preference. That was old school technology - I say throw them in with the manifold. The GZ LIM is a pretty nice setup... I'm sure you'd be happy with it, and its less of a hastle... no fab needed.

Either way, let us know the turnout =P

For all who may be curious, what dhahlen is talking about -

http://www.groundzerostore.com/pd_mazda.cfm

(I'm just a link posting maniac tonight)

I like that very much, and I agree, it's MUCH cleaner than the "pre TB bung idea".

I will get everything figured out in the next 2 weeks, (race day is 10/22) and get some pics up.

Thanks for the input guys.

youre welcome. . .

hehe, im not that arrogant.

i personally think the aftermarket LIM would be a GREAT idea for what youre doing. that way you dont have to have all the extra bungs and the whatnot welded on with crazy fittings and hoopla hanging around. itll be a cleaner install altogether. also, with that kind of hp expectation im sure you have an aftermarket EMS in the plans. . . ie haltech, microtech, etc, etc. . . the powerfc wouldnt be the EMS youd wanna go for with your goals and technical aspects of the car. something with the ability to stage injectors at the tuners desire and whatnot.

anyways, sounds like fun. . . need a wideband?
