add coolant light

Over the past couple of days. the little add coolant light on the temp gauge has been lit up and beeping. It will come on soon after i start my car, go off after a couple of minutes and then come back on a few seconds later. And the car is never anywhere close to overheating. Can anyone help me??

It could be a bad sensor if your coolant levels are good. It could be also a short or problem with the wire that comes from the sensor.

I was having this same problem but my car never overheated and the coolant was always full.

You don't mention anything about having actually checked your coolant levels.

Whens the last time you checked the level in your filler neck(by the air pump) as this is a typical result of air in the cooling system. Give it time and one good hard runn and you'll be asking us how to replace the motor. Air in the system will allow for localized boiling not to mention it pushes coolant into the recovery tank and won't draw back enough to keep the system full. It will eventually run hot and you will have a problem (if you don't already) as air gets into the system due to a leak some where in it.
