'add coolant'

My little light comes on with the buzzer for like 5 mins ...when car gets warm...its goes away...what is it? should I just top it up and forget about it? or is it a sign?

Do you smell any burning coolant when you stop driving? I would smell around and if so, make sure you tighten up any hoses.
