Most people buy the ZX3-HD00 which is the Street/strip clutch. Some buy the ZX3-HDR6 which is the 6 puck. For most cars the Street/strip is plenty of clutch.

Ditto,
One note though, you need to replace the clutch hydralic line from the stock unit to an upgraded braided (interior braids or exterior your choice), because of the increase in pressure necessary.
I didn't and the line blew, luckily I was at KDR and Dave hooked me up with a replacement.

i dunno if this helps or not, but i had an act 2600 w/street disc in my awd eclipse. sorry, don't have a fd yet
but anyway, as far as the dsm world, act is the best. i was able to launch at 7k and the clutch and pressure plate was great. grabs strong and last longer than the other pieces of crap i had (and keep in mind that awd cars need a stronger clutch and pressure plate). my tranny finally went of course (ripped the teeth off the gears) after all the hard launching but i loved it. when i can get me an fd, act is all i'm even gonna consider buying!!! i'd go with street disc over a puck if you want smoother engagement though. hope that's enough useful info even though it's not fd directly related.

Thanks for all the input guys! As for the braided line , can I do that myself after the tranny is installed or does the tranny need to be out? How much and where can I get one at?
m_snoby -- how long did your line last? How much did the part cost and how long did it take to replace?
thanks guys

This might sound wierd to some of you but im running a brand new stock pressure plate with a unpsrung bronze 4 puck from act. Holds up awesome and isnt too hard on the tranny. An aftermarket pressure plate would be a little rough on the tranny in my opinion.

okay, but how many mods do you have? an aftermarket pressure plate is needed when you increase the horsepower cause the stock one will be too weak to hold the clutch against the flywheel. that's when it starts to slip and well, you have to get something stronger otherwise it's gonna wear out the disc very quickly. i personally had TWO pieces of crap pressure plates in my eclipse. neither would hold strong enough and had to finally change it to an act. it's a pain in the *** to have to pull the tranny on a car with awd too. but to save money....and time....i'd get something strong enough to support the mods i'd plan on using in the future and be done with it. otherwise you could have a big headache later.
i also use to have a 300ZX and installed a weak pressure plate in it once as well (part was recommended by a friend of mine). had it in the car long enough to drive it forward 2 feet and then it went back in the air to take it back out. it was that weak. so i'm done pullling trannies for some crap like that!!! if you don't plan on going much over stock, having a stock pressure plate might be okay for you though.

So. What ACT clutch should I get? My planes are to go singel and 550-600Hp next summer. The organic I guess is to weak, But should I get 4 or 6-puck? and Heavy duty or Extreme pressure-plate? What do you guys think. Im placing my order tomorrow BTW.
