ABS Tried to burn itself out

Hey all, Ive already done some searching, on this and as a result have a decent idea of where to head first, but just in case that doesnt pan out, I was hoping for additional ideas. Coming back from work today my ABS light randomly came on, I pulled over, shut the car off and started it back up again, and after about 30 seconds the light was back on again. Eventually I got home and shut the car off and hear an LOUD buzzing noise coming from the ABS Pump. Pulled the neg terminal from the battery and it shut off. Ive seen adds for used pumps here on the forum at around $75-$100, but hopefully it doesn't come to that. Ill check relays, and make sure no water got back into the trunk and made contact with the ABS Computer, does anyone else have any further ideas?

I know this isn't exactly critical, but since it rains here in Oregon quite a bit, I'd rather be safe than sorry later on.

As usual thank you for all of the advice

If the computer thinks a wheel is not spinning it acts up...(bad abs wheel speed sensor) I believe you can pull abs codes, that should help you, but this might be a dealership only scanner tool. Also, like you mentioned it could be a shorted relay.
