I have had an ABS light on now for about a year and have tried everything to find out whats wrong, these are the symptoms...

1. The ABS dash light goes through its routine correctly when I turn on the ignition, i.e. it flashes for a short while and then goes out. Perfect.

2. When I start the engine (the car has not moved at all) the light comes on and stays on. I have no ABS function.

In the past I have had error code 11 flash up ...my car is a RHD jap import so I dont know what ABS error code 11 means.

Although the Jap 7's and the US Domestic cars are not identical I would still like to know what ABS error code 11 means in your cars ?? Can anyone help with that ??


OK this is what I have done :-

1. Tested all wheel sensors with an oscillascope and an electronics engineer buddy. Tested OK

2. Tested the harness by reading the voltage at the ABS Control Unit from he wheel sensors when spinning the wheels. OK

3. Changed the ABS Control unit. ...No change to symptoms

I can only assume its some sort of intermittent failure !!!

Can anyone offer ANY ADVICE ! a test or some pricipal which I have missed..Your help would be greatly appreciated.

One last reminder if anyone has the speal on ABS error code 11 ???
