ABS Light/Noise from ABS

ABS light came on, turned the car off, noise was coming from the ABS unit, I smacked the black plastic box looking thing and the noise stopped. Before smacking the box I pulled the 15 AMP abs fuse and nothing happened.

Any ideas??

I believe the black box has the ABS relay and some other electrical parts of the unit. Might have gotten stuck or had a flaky electrical contact.

I believe the black box has separate replaceable components from the pump itself. Never really looked that far into it, though.

You are "lucky" you probably found your gremlin quick
I have had trouble with the ABS for long, finally fixed it
It is most probably the ABS relay...check to see if it works well, it sometimes takes some condensation in...otherwise just replace it...it might be a tad expnsive though
