got f*cking rear-ended
I was driving home, stuck on a red light. I was the first car waiting for the light to change. The light is about to change, and an old man is still walking across. Obivously the light changes green the guy is still in front of me. An asswipe behind me talking on the phone doesn't see the guy but light changing and lets go of his brake rear-ending me.
Btw, I got my car about 4,5 months ago. 100k miles and 100% stock. Very clean inside and out. I treated her like my own baby like so many of you guys.
So, anyways, I got out of the car, there is no real damage but a small small scatch, and a small area of imprinted his bumper (98ish bmw 740) I cannot really have him pay for a new bumper because the damage is so little....but it disturbs me that my rear bumper is not in a perfect condition anymore......
what should i do?!!!!!

Look, the guy hit you and it was his fault. Either he pays to fix it back to perfect, or his insurance does. It's that simple. Why do you feel guilty for making him pay for his mistake?
Oh, and sorry about your car. Good luck getting it fixed back to new again.

Someone like turbojeff would know for sure, but if there is no damage to the bumper or bumper reinforcement, then it should cost $300 - $400 to do it RIGHT. That is remove the bumper, sand, repaint the entire piece, and remount.

This guy obviously has the money, its not like you're taking food off his table. Get an estimate for the damage and see if he will just pay you straight with no insurance involved, that way its easier for everyone. If he's being a dick about it, than submit it to insurance and his premiums will most likely go up.

With all kidding aside. everyone here is right. you should not feel bad for gaoing after him to fix the car. your bumper was perfect until he dicided to rear end it. cheer up. at least your car is still in working order and you're still alive.

I had the same thing happen to me the other day. Bitch pulls out of the stall in the parking structure, drives forwards maybe 20 yards, then throws it into reverse and starts backing up. I was like WTF, dumped into reverse and honked. The only good thing about her is she had the IQ to take her foot off the gas and step on the brake.
