abs light, hesitation, battery related?

Ok, i've done a lot of searching, but haven't really identified the problem. First, I have an ABS warning light that comes on and stays on sometime after I start driving. It doesn't start as soon as I start moving, just a couple minutes after I start driving. I have a 93 and it has no way to pull ABS codes. Is there any way to erase the codes on a 93?

Second, I get a heavy hesitation at partial throttle. At very light throttle, the car drives fine. At maybe 20% throttle or more, the car immediately bogs down. I just found out how to check tps voltage and will probably do it in the next day or so.

Practically everything sensor wise is new on the engine. I did the hose job and am pretty sure I did it right and have good vaccum. My grounds are good. My main question is, would low voltage do this? I put in a tiny Hawker Oddysey PC680 dry cell battery during my rebuild. I only get 12.6v at the battery. Anyone ever have these kinds of problems when driving with a weak battery? The car starts great, but the voltage is a little low.

Thanks

Yeah, im retarded. I checked the voltage with the car ON, and i get 14.3 volts. So, i guess my idea is pretty shot. Any suggestions on the ABS thing would be appreciated.

Have you tried resetting the ecu? or checking all the abs sensors and cleaning them? What RPM are you gettting this hesitation?

I would try and clean the abs sensors on the spindle. If they are not correctly picking up reading after you start moving the abs light will trigger. It can happen from brake dust, grease ect.

I think you are on the right track with the tps sensor. I would test that and see if it is properly adjusted.

Ive had the same problem too, but mine is VERY intermittent. Every month or 2 for 1 journey my ABS light comes on and i get bogging on acceleration...

I havent found the cause yet though, and my engine is on the garage floor now! If you fix it though id appreciate you dropping me a PM and letting me know what it was.

My ABS light comes on 1/2 the time I drive. I have had the car since 93 and it came with the ABS light issue. Dealer could not fix (say it ain't so). Car was a daily driver for first couple of years and now once or twice a month. I have not seen any problems with it. The only hesitation I get is the 3k problem. Braking to me seems to be fine and never had a problem stopping.

I'm getting the hesitation at any rpm. It seems to be dependant on the amount of throttle I give it. It's weird, I can hear the turbos spooling and when I get the hesitation, they go quiet. It's a sort of light jerky feeling, and the car will definitely not go any faster. If I give it light throttle to a higher rpm (>4500) and then progressively give it more gas, I can get full boost with a proper 10-8-10 pattern. I have to pull the engine and drop in another reman soon, so I'll be testing all the solenoids w/ a mityvac. If the tps checks out, I might as well get a new emissions harness while I have the engine out. I may have also not installed the injectors properly. I remember being confused about how to install the insulators and with tightening torque on the rails b/c the FSM wasn't very specific. I can smell a faint fuel odor when I shut off the car and stick my head down around the UIM. Also, the car gets crappy gas milage. I estimate that it's around 13 or 14 mpg in mostly conservative driving.

I forgot to ask, should I just spray brake cleaner around the sensors, or do I take them off and clean them or what? I don't even really know what they look like, but I'll check out the FSM. I just don't know how to clean them. Also, I didn't have the problem before my rebuild, and I know that I was messing with the sensor connectors on the tranny, so I guess that would be a good place to look as well.

Thanks
