Question ABS light came on

My friend who worked on the body job had to disconnect the ABS plug in the hatch of the car to get access to remove the rear bumper. Now the ABS light turns on once the car moves like 5 feet. The ABS is plugged back in (1 plug)...Is there any ground cable to it? I think something was not plugged in. I unplugged it and replugged it but the light still goes on.

Has anybody ever run into this problem?

Check the pins on the connector itself. Maybe he bent one when reconnecting? Sounds like a signal problem if I understand correctly. How have you tried clearing the light???? have you tried pulling the code(not sure how that would work on obd-I but I assume its the same old counting the flashes).

I'd just plug everything and just unplug the battery. If it comes back check the FSM for troubleshooting help!!!

hope this helps!

Disconnect the battery, then press the break pedal for a few seconds to deplete any stored power in the ECU.

Will this deplete the stored power in the ABS' ECU or the Main ECU?

Which ECU? I have the GM LS1 ECU. The ABS ECU is a separate unit, correct?

the source its the main ecu,
it will only reset the faults,
it wont mess up ur fuel maps, no need to worry about that.

unplug the car battery for 5 minutes, if it works, all good, if not means the fault still remains
