ABS Diagnostics

Hi all;
I have just bought a Gen3 and the ABS light is constantly on when i drive. From reading the threads i have seen that wiper fuses etc tend to cause this fault sometimes, but i have checked the fuses in my case and it doesnt seem to be the prob.

I left it with a workshop to get it checked out, but the tech got back to me and said that he couldnt interrogate the computer in my car because he didnt have the correct connector on his analyser (i have a jap import car, and he said that the connector he has on his analyser is for australian produced cars, and is different to the one he needed on my car).

He said that he would find the correct analyser for my car, and get back to me. In the mean-time he cleaned the ABS sensors on each wheel assembly in an attempt to fix the problem, without success.

When i quizzed him as to the location of the connector and its shape etc (just for kicks) he said that it was a white, 20-pin connector under the drivers side dash of the car.

As i am new to RX7 i took his knowledge on 'face-value', but from reading the threads it seems to me that if i was wanting to diagnose an ABS fault on one of these cars i would be heading straight for the DIAGNOSTICS box near the battery in the engine bay. Does this sound about right, or was my tech on the right track when he said that he needed to tap into a 20-pin connector under my dash to troubleshoot this ABS problem?

I hope im not being to vague with the details, but something doesnt seem to gel.

Cheers;
Sco!
