about the maint cat and midpipe?

Hey how long does your main cat last? Anyhow about 2 yrs ago I had replace my maint cat with one that has came off from a car with 30.000 miles on it, So I inspect it was fine when I got it and it's been on my car 2.5 yrs. last month I was replacing my tranny and when i went to put back my main cat I notice in the front section of it came lose inside {2 pieces of brick or whatever it's call}. My car does not burn rich because I can tell if it burn rich and my exhaust tip is greyish not black like others. Btw I don't drive the car eveyday so since I installed the main cat I only did 1500 miles, can someone help out this mystery? Anyhow I want to installed a 3 inch mipipe pipe but I want to keep my air pump bolt on but do I do with wire? Also can u get a engine check light on if I discount the wire? Also I want to keep the pipe that goes to main cat on the car what do u guys do it? sorry for this crap to be so long, thanks. khris

Before you run a MP, you must be able to 1) deliver enough fuel (ECU upgrade), and 2) be able to control your boost (avoid boost creep [ported wastegates are best] and have a boost controller). Everyone has a different opinion about creep, and offer different solutions. Read up on it and you can decide for yourself.

About the airpump, you can run it without the cat, all you will be doing is pumping air under the car which doesnt matter. Leave the wire connected and let it think it is doing the right thing.

Don't worry about the pipes of the airpump, leave them in place.

Hope that helps.

p.s. I have no idea why your cat is dying, you should take it to a vet. The problem is that it swallowed those bricks.
