? about Intercoolers
I just got a used ASP race intercooler, and i counted the fins on the the front side and there's 16 total rows of fins.not counting the bars. I've seen the pettit coolcharge 3 has 18 fins and i know that m2 has like 28 or 22 fins. What does this mean. I think most of them are about the same height,Since mine only has 16 does it not cool as fast or as much, and has less pressure drop, since it's not pack as tight? Just trying to figure out how the intercooler i got stands against the other SMIC.Thanks

i wouldnt pay so much attention to the amount of rows in the intercooler as the size and thickness. Yes, with more rows the cooling is usually better. The asp intercoolers are pretty popular on the forum, so they have to be doing something right.

It's supposed to be that way Silver. The result of the core arrangement relative to the medium IC is that it has less pressure drop, better high speed efficiency but similar low speed efficiency despite the larger size, that's the tradeoff for the reduced pressure drop. There's no real magic when we talk about bar & plate cores, they are all essentially the same technology. The issue is what trade off's we make with size and core arrangement.
