99 spec turbo dyno results

A thought, Jeff: does the M2 medium have any sort of attachment to the body, other than the intake piping? Since I bought one of your "small" battery trays
, is it possible to move the M2 med SMIC over slightly to the right, closer to the battery? Would that help any with intake pipe routing?

Oh and no the med IC does not attach to the body, it just lays on the cross brace.

As far as how I made the efini y pipe fit with the M2 Med IC. I had to take the trusty dremel out and cut the top of the efini-y pipe lower section but still leave enough room for the 2 hose fittings on back. So I'm back to the old hose and clamp setup, but I never had a problem with that before or now. I did have to notch out the hood support that was rubbing the IC inlet pipe that comes with the M2 med IC, It's as far down as it can go and it still rubbed.

Right, I throw the top efini piece in my pile of useless junk I've had on my car. I used the inlet pipe that came with the M2 Med IC, the one that comes up, over the air pump then does a small "s" curve into the IC end tank.
Looking over my log data now, the primary turbo drops to 11.1 before transition, from a high of 13.37 psi. It's a steady decline, much like my torque curve to transition.

Nice numbers, Tim. Glad to see the potential of the 99s even with a stock port. I'm amazed you were able to use the efini y-pipe with the M2 - I looked at it and figured I would have to modify it so much that it wouldn't benefit me so I decided to stay with the stock y-pipe.
I figured you'd be in the 350-360 rwhp at 15 psi and you came out even better so that's great - especially with NEW turbos rather than rebuilds. Not many people have the 99s - it'd be interesting to see how they run at 16 psi - with smaller compressors, their sweet spot might be right where you have them. I know the BNRs sweet spot if 15-17 psi - anything over that doesn't produce much. Good luck and enjoy your car. Post them sheets

Thanks Barry, I'd have the sheet posted already, but my new computer doesn't have the software to scan images in, but my old one did. I'm searching through old CD's to find the software that went with my scanner now.

Looking foward to seeing the sheets once you post them. My home was completed in Florida last week. My wife is moving down in November to start our business and I'll be down for good in January - with the last crappy winter we had I'll look foward to nice weather.

the HKS twin ignition plugs right in with the stock ignition and uses the stock coils.
I can't find my old software for my scanner, as soon as I can get it copied, I'll post the dyno sheet.

Tim,
I would like to see your dyno sheet.. If you want, make a copy and send it to me.. I'll scan it and post it for you.. I'm now even more serious about getting a 99, 280 turbos..

Tim,
Glad to see your numbers. We have similar mods, except I have a GReddy Type 24 V-spec FMIC (known as the 2-row).
I have a boost leak I'm trying to find right now, but before that, the car ran GREAT!
FWIW, I seldom run the car @ 1 kilo. Usually I have the PFC boost set to 0.8 or 0.9 Primary and Secondary.

Tim, Very nice numbers.
Marvelspeed tuned my 99specs to 327rwhp @ 13psi. Torque was 277. A/F was 11.90 He didn't get a chance to take it up to 15 psi (ran out of dyno time)
I also have a large transition dip that I'd like to smooth out. Have you done anything with the transition points and boost duty cycles?
For those that are interested, my perf. mods are:
stock Mazda reman
99 spec 280hp twins
Blitz intake
Blitz FMIC
Midpipe
RB dual tips
Jacobs ignition
efini Y-pipe
Power FC
Blitz 850cc x 4

Sorry for the delay, I still don't have my scanner working since I haven't got a copy of it at my house. One thing I was wondering about was the pills in the line and the nipples on the 99 spec. Do the 99 spec turbos have the restriction cast into the nipple? I should have looked on mine, but forgot.
