'99 rear light conversion

Bought the Sony DSC707 digital camera recently ( 5+ megapixels) and have been snapping away. I saw a thread regarding tail light conversions recently.

Not to disrespect those who offer to convert them for a price, but I believe that ANYONE with the least bit of mechanical ability and common sense can do this modification themselves, the best part being the cost- practically nothing.

But if anyone feels intimidated about the task, then by all means find somone that is willing to do it for a price both of you will be happy with. I did mine about a year ago at least, and am happy with the results. I made the running/tail lights ever so slightly larger than the turn indicator. I believe that all my circles are larger than the real '99 lights. I've enclosed two pictures showing you the finished product. The yellow indicator lights are distorted because of the curvature of the body itself. Please feel free to leave your comments, good or bad. Enjoy!

put those beasts in a pre heated oven for 5 min, pull apart light and lens, use stencil to cut out circles from carbon fiber film(or just paint if u dont like cf look) and slap them back together with the glue heated back up. 100% better upgrade, and do it yourself in an hour. i myself have the old mazda symbols on the turn indicator

It cracks me up everytime someone wipes out their tag. What do you do when you are driving out on the street? Do you mark it out with white paint, too?

yea I really dont know why people do it. when I was reveiwing my post I saw my license number then remembered that people usually blacked them out. I didn't know why, but figured there had to be a decent reason for doing so... lol!
