Is the 99 body worth it?....

After thinking very carefully, id want the 99 spec body on my rx7. Before i wanted a C-west body kit but i didnt want to seem like a ricer, so i thought of converting the style to JDM stock.

Does anyone have either a c-west body kit, a race on usa body kit (off brand of the cwest), or the 99 spec body?

Thanks for any feed back.

Is it worth what? Having to buy the bumper, pay to have it put on and painted.
For a stock set up? no
For better flow to an aftermarket oilcooler/intercooler set up? Depends

Depend on how much you are willing to spend.. 99+ OEM body parts aren't cheap.. complete front end w/ fogs, undertray, brake ducts, lights, rear spoiler will run you close to 3k.. and you have to get it painted.. I had mine sitting around for 1.5 years before put them on my car.. because I didn't want to have just the bumper painted. So, waited until I painted the whole car.. My other FD, I bought it w/99 stuff on.. Also complete 99 front end with brake ducts, undertray, lip, support, etc.. minus the rear spoiler.. and all painted together with the car...

LOL!! I was told its least played out look (body kit) in good ole US of A.. Maybe we should have a poll and see how many people have 99 front ends?? I say less than 50 in USA.. Maybe less than 40..

I agree..not many people have the 99spec look...plus how can it be played out when it's a newer stock look..it's like saying that 93-95 stock looks are played out since everyone have them...

Check this scenario:
Let's say that 100% of the people on this board have the 99 spec. When was the last time you saw an FD? And the time before that? Where they part of the forum?

There is no such thing as a played out FD. There just isn't enough of us around.

If you are seriously thinking about going 99 check out this thread (scroll to my reply): It's now or never bro.

I personally think it is nice, but I would get something more functional cooling wise for track use, and it would be cheaper as well..... the high cost of oem stuff is kind of a turn off to me ... oh well

Check my sig. I love my 99 front, makes the car look much meaner. Also, they openings for the rad and esp for the oil cooler(s) are much bigger. See, it's a *functional* mod

Yeah, that's a GREAT thing to base your decision on.

Why the hell do so many people view "different" as better? "Different" in most cases means it looks really cheesy or looks like ***.

It's alright. Worth it? That's on you. The bumper you have is perfectly fine. If you want to change the look of the car then it may be worth it. I hate the plate holder though so I'd have to go with a knockoff that has it shaved.

I think the original front with the 99 spec lip is the best looking front end for an FD. I have searched for over 2 years to find a better looking kit and the only thing I like as much is the original mazdaspeed a-spec type II bumper, but good luck finding that.... I would keep the loot or put it into other performance aspects. Just remember-opinions are like a$$holes, everyones got one and they all stink. Just do what floats your boat.-B

I have the sexy style kit from rxecret7.com and im planning to buy the 99 front end because its made of eurthane. Almost all the kits are made of fiberglass and is easy to break. I broke mines 5 times in one year. 99 is worth it, just my 2 cent

I chose to have the 99spec look and I'm very happy with it.
