94 RX-7 Buying Inspection?

Hello, I am currently looking at purchasing a 1994 RX-7, Manual, with 40,000 miles. The mods I've noticed are a 3" exhaust with a TI tip cant tell the maker. It also has a Greddy Turbo Timer, and a nice Boost guage. Basically this is my first stab at owning a rotary engine and am looking for advise on what I need to look for in the inspection? If anyone can please provide some information I would greatly appreciate and hopefully will be the proud owner in a few days!

Thanks alot!

since it has a boost gauge check the boost pattern when you go on a test drive, it should be 10-8-10

Your first Rotary vehicle. It's a 3rd gen. I'd recommend having someone that really knows 3rd gens look at it. You can miss problems waiting to happen no matter how much reading you do. Good luck

The boost gauge should read 16-18 inHg at idle with no electrical load or A/C.

Take it to a rotary specialist for an inspection. Pay them $200 or more, and consider it money well spent.
