The owner's manual says to use 10w-30, regular oil (not synthetic). What brand you use probably isn't important (Castrol or Pennzoil or Chevron or whatever).

Some people use Mobil 1 synthetic and have no problems, but the owner's manual says to only use regular oil.

I personally prefer Purolator PureOne oil filters, the blue ones. They are said to be better than most others. Mobil1 oil filters are also good, as well as K&N. Avoid Fram if possible, they have been said to be bad quality filters.

Good luck,

Castrol GTX 10w-30 (or 20w-50 for a car that will Raced) is a very good choice -
Racing Beat recomends Royal Purple synthetic
TriPoint recomends Red Line synthetic

I second the PureOne filter recomendation - They are what I use on my RX-7 (and all my other cars)

Good morning. I would like to know specifically what brand and weight of oil to use in a 3rd generation Mazda RX-7.

[edit]By the way, I use Mobil 1 15w-50 full-synthetic with a Mazda filter. I change the oil every 2000-2500 miles.[/edit]

I think this is what he meant:

"Good morning. I am not interested in hearing all of your recommendations on what oil or filters to use. I asked if anyone knows what oil (weight and brand, and presumably which specific oil from that brand) Mazda used when they built the cars. Please share the info if you have this knowledge. What oil did the 93 RX-7 come with from the factory?"

Havoline 10-30 in the winter and 20-50 in the summer. Note: not all oils are mineral based

Castrol GTX 10w-30. But you can find that out from the owner's manual.
