93 rx-7 will not start

My 93 rx-7 will not start. I will turn the key and the engine will crank but no start.
The fuel pump will turn on when the key is turned but that is the only time. I am also not getting any spark. I think that because the way that the fuel pump is acting that this could be a problem with the haltech (E6K). I am thinking that maybe the haltech may not be getting the signal that the engine is cranking. Has anybody had this problem? Some info about this problem would really be aprreciated, Thanks

go to the haltech forum...

sounds like the fuel pump is priming correctly.

hook your laptop to the E6K and see if you see an RPM reading (~120rpm) while cranking...if not, you are not getting a CAS reading. Adjust Home and Reference gains start with 0 and use tab to adjust all the way up, checking each position if a signal.

If no go...check all engine GND's and ECU GND's are solid.

Like you said your not getting spark start there. Check the coils wireing harness and crank pickups. Good luck!!

not sure how the haltech works but if you are still using the EGI fuse in the fuse box by the battery you might want to check that too.

Ok, forgive me I don't know a whole lot about my car but I was thinking that because the fuel pump will prime initially and then it quits and I can get spark when touched to the frame but not when the engine is cranking, that maybe there is no signal either to or from the haltech that the engine is cranking.

if the spark fires, the haltech is getting and receiving a singal.

Hook it up to a computer (find the ECU box...there is a serial (9-pin computer plug) cable coming off the engine harness, plug that into a computer, and load the E6K software (do you have a labtop with the haltech software??), crank the car...<-nevermind

tell them you need someone with E6K software that can check your CAS's.

tell them you are from NM and need E6X help.
