I implemented the fix. The part is actually just the plastic piece that the plunger switch threads onto. I think Mazda made the part too short so the replacement piece fixes that. I have to say after a knuckle skinning install it started to do the same thing a year later. I was fed up and just used a self adhesive black felt pad right where the plunger hits and that solve the problem.
