Guys when I did my AT -> MT swap i kept my auto gauge cluster and bought a broken manual one for cheap off the classifieds and switched the gauge faces. While in there I removed the bulb for the hold light (IIRC) even tho the manual gauge face covers it. I didn't want anything blinking back there. This is a much cheaper option. Good luck to you all working things out or finishing up the project!

To get rid of the flashing hold light you'll have to access the main CPU by the passengers foot area. It's a 8" x 8" x 1" metal box (silver colored). Attached to that box are 2 smaller boxes. One is silver and one is black. Disconnect and remove both. You don't need either and disconnecting them will get rid of the flashing light.

Isn't one of those boxes the fan control unit? My plan is to just unplug the hold light plug off the back of the cluster.

VA Flashing hold light

Hello,

I've been off of this blog site for about 7 months, but wanted to answer the last persons post about the flashing hold light.

I thought about unplugging the light in the dash, but I was told not to mess around with the dash cluster unless you have to, because the chance of braking the black plastic curved dash shroud (thing that sticks out towards the driver from the dash and its above the dash cluster) is highly likely. And they don't make that part anymore. So you may end up with a broken dash and no way to fix it.

The ECU on the passengers side is pretty easy to get to and you simply unplug the two boxes that I mentioned before. If you email or PM me, I can email you a pic of the boxes that were removed. (This technique was done by an RX7 Guru who's done dozens of swaps and gets paid to do it).

Great comments from the group!

Ok so I removed the TCU next to the ECU and the hold light no longer blinks. New problem though....I no longer have cruise control. Any ideas?

Ok so I plugged the TCU (Silver box) back in and I still do not have cruise control. Perhaps I need to also remove that "Black" box you mentioned in order for cruise control to function correctly?

I have also done the diagnostic per this thread:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...ntrol-1031871/

I have no errors codes.

Is it possible that my car thinks it is in either park or neutral, preventing me from being able to use cruise control?

What all did you guys remove during your swap? Maybe that is my issue.

Couldn't find any details on this, but what's the 1-2 switch for? One of the wires is actually stripped and I can't find it anywhere to purchase another one. Or does anyone know the part number?

Pretty sure you don't need the 1-2 switch

Thank you so much for all those who helped on this thread. I recently did the swap and because of all the info provided, everything went very smooth and now I'm a happy owner of a SSM on red manual trans RX7. Thank you!
