93 FD VRS 03 Cobra

My freind just bought an 03 Cobra that according to the dealer was dynoed at 460 rwhp, He was telling my g/f that he thinks he can take my Sinlge Turbo FD at 411 RWHP on race gas. I weighed my car awhile back at the track and it weighs 2700 lbs his weighs 4900 lbs what are the chances I can take him on low boost which is right at 330 RWHP.

from a dig or roll? dig is not a safe bet at all, but a roll would be an alright race but still sketchy. why would you want to race him on low though? just put that race fuel in there for a round and put him in his place for sure. (this should prolly be in the kills section...)

what you want is curb weight. GVW is with passengers etc etc.

from what i found.. curb weight is 3664 lbs. and:

2003 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT

0-60 4.5s
1/4 mile 12.9

Stock '03 Cobras were/are 390 HP at about 3660 lbs. So, is this one modded? If not, I'd call BS on the 460 rwhp.

Race him from a roll, and make sure you have the race fuel that way you should easily win.

what turbo are you running and is your motor ported...in other words I'm wondering why you need race gas for 411 rwhp.

using a hp spreadsheet I noticed one needs roughly 10 rwhp for every 100 lbs

so your wt. at 2,700 lbs with 411 rwhp and his car weighing 3,700 lbs would need 511 rwhp to remain even

not addressing tq or gearing

GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) is the maximum allowable total weight of the vehicle loaded to capacity, including fuel, all passengers, cargo, any extra aftermarket parts, and the tongue weight of any towed vehicle.

ha ha. Even if by some crazy chance that he did beat you on race fuel and high boost, just ride over to his gf and let her climb into that sexy thing. that is one clean bay.

if you are on low boost @ 330 RWHP and if he is really at 460 RWHP. I don't think you can get him. That's 130 RWHP difference...

Why on low boost?

My honest opinion is that he got mistaken for having 460 RWHP maybe 460 to the flywheel, which would be around 400RWHP maybe, i havent heard of too many mustangs putting down those kind of numbers. I dont think there is any reason why you shouldnt be able to take him on low boost 330 to the wheels and 2700 probably put you in the mid 12 and Id say it would be close but youll get him. One the freeway i know for a fact that mustangs anret geared for freeways youll take him top end. If you want overkill and security run it on race gas and put 3-5 car lengths on him.

You definitely don't need race gas to run 411 rwhp with that turbo, you should be able to make that on 15 psi and pump gas all day long.......nice lookin' car btw

Then you've been under a rock for the last 3 years. '03+ SVT Cobras can easily make that with just a chip and pulley change.

i believe i almost bought your car, was lookin at it maybe 1/2 year ago or so. very nice. and yeah you should be pulling higher numbers with that setup.

throw in the race fuel, do one run on low boost just to see...and then proceed to hand him his *** on a silver platter.
