'93 Build Progress PICS
Well, to make a looooooong story short:
I bought my FD w/ 130k miles on it, orig. motor, stock everything except for intake / exhaust... I blew my engine back in December '06. I bought a jdm engine from Zerolift Autolab in Fairfield, OH which turned out to be garbage, sued Zerolift, got money back, and started buying a new engine piece by piece.... (and waaaayyyy too much other stuff)
Here's some pics:
Here's the list of parts: (I'm sure I'm forgetting more than a few things)
Engine
Atkins Rotary Master Rebuild Kit
Rotary Aviation 2mm Super Seals
Rotary Aviation "Race" Seal Springs

Fuel System
Fuel injectors cleaned/serviced by RC Engineering
Denso Fuel Pump
Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator
Gauge for FPR
Suspension
Engine Torque Damper
Tokico 5 Way Adjustable Shocks
Transmission

Interior
Autometer A Pillar Dual Gauge Pod

Battery:
relocating to passenger side bin
***not sure which battery to buy***
So here I am almost $12,000 later, wondering: what next? I just want to see it run again, it's been wayyyy too long.
The engine's back in the car now, just have install everything else. Everything was sand-blasted; it's all pretty - I hope it runs....
Wish me luck...

lol, yeah it was on backwards in that pic. fret not, it's been corrected....
Now I'm just trying to figure out what other little things I've either forgotten or should do...
Hose Techniques viton hoses are on the way, what else?
Financial Disaster

Nice looking motor there. With the sort of horsepower you're going to produce I'd look at upgrading the suspension to prevent wheel hop. Trailing arms, toe links, and upgraded rear diff bushings should do the trick. I can't tell from the pictures but I'd replace all the smaller coolant lines such as the ones going to turbos, the AST, and the throttle body if they're more than a few years old while you're at it.

Nice pictures, I would change the plastic oil injector lines with braided SS lines. These plastic lines tend to get brittle and crack with time.
I would also replace the stock oil injectors if you still have them with the upgraded ones. The stock ones has the tendency of "starvation" during high boosting conditions when the Apex seals need lube the most.
Unless you tend to use premix cycle oil in your gas, then disregard changing the injectors.
Yeah, when I got my reman engine installed, I also replaced the coolant lines, especially the turbos, they're a bitch to do with the engine in car.
Good luck on your project and hope to see another FD being on the road again!

only took 8 drawn-out months and a small claims law suit! lol
how much power do you think it'll make? i wasn't expecting a whole lot. yeah the motor is street-ported and there's some nice parts but still stock twins (still sequential too) and they'll be running 10-12 psi....
maybe someone with a similar build could give me a horsepower estimate?

I'm guessing you'll have somewhere around 330-350HP to the wheels. I'm getting around 320HP to the wheels with a stock motor, stock twins, downpipe, high flow cat, airinx intake, 12PSI, Greddy FMIC, denso fuel pump, RB catback, and PFC tuned by Steve Kan.

lol true true....
he tried ******* me royally gave me false tracking numbers, kept saying the motor was shipped, avoiding phone calls, etc....
when i finally got one there was no compression in one of the rotors. it took a lawsuit to refund the money.
**** you mr. mike bailey.
....no hard feelings though
