93 and 95 harness differences
93 and 95 harness differences
I ordered a new harness to replace my 93 federal harness, its a 95 harness that acording to mazda performance superceeded the 93 harness.
There are a few differences, I would like to identify.
first there is a blue plug that wasn't there on the 93, its a 2 connector female that sits where the uim and lim come together at the front of the engine near the front secondairy injector.
In that same area, there is a single conductor white plug that also wasn't there.
at the other end of the harness where it plugs into the ECU there is an additional 10 pin (iirc) black connector that has 5 pins in use, again this one wasn't there on the 93.
then there is also a single conductor back plug in the same area.
Any help is appreciated.
thanks....

The only difference should be on the ECU side. There was a fan recall done which added a Fan Control module near the ECU. On the 93's, they added an extra harness to hook into the new control box. For the later models, they modified the harness to include the extra connector (the larger black plug on the ECU side). The other smaller one sounds like the fan diagnostic plug (which people cut off and ground to a switch for one of the fan mods).
The other connectors sounds like the normal EGR and coolant level sensor plugs.

Thanks,
I thought the coolant level sensor plug was on the body harness, and not the engine harness.
I am not using the ECU for fan controll at all, I have a fan with an integrated controller.
