7's in autocross
yep... The car did well ( for no boost
) but the driver needs lots of work
It was great fun and the car has such a good nature that I dont need to be as good of a driver to comete with some other cars in the class!

Check the curent Sport Compact Car Mag - The runaway winner of the G-Games handling shoot-out is a Solo II Autocross National Championship Winning 94 RX-7!
In general all RX-7s are good autocross cars - their drive train layout w/ near 50/50 weight distribution gives good handling balance and even NA -7s have plenty of power for Autocross events.

Yep, just finished my first ever season. Did about 20 events with the two clubs here in DFW. In capable hands the third gen is feared in Super Stock, but the C5 definately has the upper hand now. Third gens have won nationals consistently until the C5 hit the turf. Only one a handful even bothered running against the Corvettes.
Can't say at this point that I am feared, but it sure is a hell of a lot of fun. Time for the winter projects to start...
Hey Saint, thanks for the Yokohama advice. It rained like hell my first day and I felt like a stone skipping across a lake. Dry the next day and your pressures were definately in the ballpark. Man the car is so much quicker on race tires.

Glad to be of help. In the rain as long as there is no standing water I find that the traction is stil better then the street tires.

The FD was the SS autocross king and only the ZO6 Vette was able to unseat it - with 385 HP.
I autocross mine and it loves it - loves a road course better, though.
Autocross is all driver. We have a ZO6 at our region, but he still gets spanked. Look at John Thomas - National Champ for years and years -Honda Civic and he will beat everybody. A guy like that can get in your car and first time out beat your best ever time.
