Ray’s physical location hasn’t changed but the dealership where he works full time has. Malloy discontinued Mazda sales and Ray has changed work locations because of that. He has separate arrangements made to sell Mazda parts through NuCar.

The same as others, I have trusted Ray for years. I miss the days where I could walk up to his Mazda parts counter locally. I never had to wait for anything!

Approx how much would it cost if you bring your tranny to a shop to have it open inspected/refreshed? I currently have the tranny down out the car and was thinking about getting it freshened up. Has around 120k ish miles on
I figured to post here since a quick search didnt give results and the discussion is about the transmission.

It’s probably going to vary a lot between shops but fwiw probably 6 or 8 years ago I had a fairly comprehensive rebuild done on mine while replacing a bad input shaft bearing. [With the help a former experienced member here I’d already done the 5th gear synchro several years earlier]. But I had the rest of the synchros replaced, most bearings and seals. Here in the Midwest it was about $1200 with me R & R’ing the transmission.

Thank you I kinda wanted an idea of price range I'm going to be spending. Going to call a transmission rebuild shop to see what they say tomorrow

Call a few transmission shops or rx7 shops that can recommend their transmission guy.
I got quoted just $200 labor if I bring the transmission and all parts.

I recently replaced mine, here's the parts I used. I installed the updated shift select spindle while I was in there. You'll also need some transmission fluid and rtv.
