What do you mean by stuck? Stuck in 5th? Stuck out of 5th?

I'm guessing something related to the 5th gear synchro, but I don't see how that would make it stick in gear or not go in gear (whichever you mean).

So it gets stuck in 5th gear? I don't know what the issue is, but it already sounds like it's gonna require ripping the tranny apart.

The only easy fix I can think of, and it's temporary at best, is to try changing the tranny fluid, maybe better fluid will help it slide out easier. But this won't fix the problem it'll just provide relief until you can get it fixed.

My mechanic recomended I try some GM LSD additive in the transmission. Said it would smooth it out and quiet it down some. Also take care of my notchey 1-2 shift. I've not tried it yet. Any opinions on this?

Might also help with the stuck in 5th issue!

The odd thing is was that when i got the car running it never did it again. Ill double check today but hopefully its not the tranny. I am ready to but my BNRs and all my mods on my car and a bodykit and I dont wanna waste more money on the car cause the tranny.
