550cc -vs- 850cc primaries
#52
I have decided to go down the 4 x 850 route and had the primary rail machined down by about 3mm or 1/8 inch..
However when we tested the fuel setup (using GND and F/P) the we get a very small leak after 5 minutes from the top of the rail..
Can anyone tell me what sort of fuel pressure we should see when doing this test as i dont have a fuel pressure guage hooked up and has anyone else had the leak problem..??

I figure I'd give my 2 cents. I have rewired my fuel pump(walbro), removed the fuel pump resistor, and am running 1300cc sec. I milled my primary down and installed 850's. I could not get them to idle with my PFC any higher than 11.5 AFR. Tried multiple settings on the PFC to run 02 feeback and a few other things. The idle was stable but just way too rich for a street car at idle. I don't know how everyone else is doing with leaning out idle but I guess there is just so low of a dutycycle those 850's can go. I suspect others have gone leaner at idle based on maybe a stock pump, no rewire and still using the fuel pump resistor. I never played with the lag times as I have heard of other people having issues with accelerator pump setting problems when adjusting lag for leaning the idle. I am going back to 550's as my 1300's ended up flowing 1600 cc. Should still be more than enough for 400 whp.
