does anybody know y Mazda put a 5-speed instead of a 6-speed?


IMO........i think they put a 5-speed........because by the time we hit 5th..........we already left the other cars far behind..........and putting a 6th would make us even faster than other cars............6-speed would also be heavier


just tell me why you guyz think they put a 5-speed?

 

I think a 6 speed has different internal gears than a 5 speed so I don't think a 6 speed would make our cars much faster. Maybe they just didn't feel like adapting a 6 speed? Or maybe it had the wrong gearing for what they wanted?

 

I dunno, but I think it'd be nice to have a close ratio 6 spd. gearbox.

 

and how many 6-speeds did you see in 93-95?

Maybe the 6-speed choices were slim and they had a stronger 5-speed. The 2nd gen TII 5-speed is bullet proof. I have heard of 5th gear synchro problems in 3rd gen.

 

My friends 94 Supra has a six speed so they definately were around. Personally I like a six for the highway, but a 5 for the track. A six would have been nice.

 

he must have added it later because i dont think they were around then, no other car had them.
