Add some ground straps from battery to engine, engine to body, body to battery, etc.

It does not sound like the turbo is your problem. From what you said it would be more like a fuel or spark problem.

I would say it's a spark problem. Check your spark plug wires to make sure they're all connected and working properly. When I dynod my car, one of my spark plug wires had decided to unhook itself from the spark plug, and it would only touch every so often. Well it was fine for normal driving up to around 4000 rpm's, so I never noticed it, but on the dyno when I got in the upper rpm's and high boost, it was shaking the whole dyno quite a bit. That's a quick check that's worth a try.

I concur with it being a probable spark problem.. it also points to it being a spark problem in the shop manual. I had a similar problem and I had one bad stock leading #2 wire and 2 carbon fouled plugs on the #2 rotor. Replaced them with new plugs and Magnecor 10mm R-100 wires and the problem was gone. She ran a great deal better afterwards as well.

I had a similar problem. In fact, the engine would not perform well at all above 4K. Turns out it was a hose or valve in the turbo actuator (?) This is acording to the dealer and I do not remember the details. My point is that you may have a bad vacuum hose or valve? Sorry, just a guess.

I agree that we need a more detailed description of your problem and
symptoms.

I had a similar problem. It turned out that the wire to one of my
coils had melted/burned up. I didn't even realize it until i had the
UIM off and touched the wire. As soon as my hand touched it, it
just crumbled.

New wires and plugs cured it...

Good Luck!

What does it do under boost at 3000 RPM? If it stumbles severely under those conditions too, it might be a secondary injector not working (bad connection, or siezed injector). My car had a siezed secondary, and it would stumble under any boost, but I could rev it lightly to 4000 RPM if I stayed out of the boost.
