Question 420whp for a Greedy SMIC???

Hi

I just search info on the site about the spec of the Greedy SMIC and I didn't find, so does somebody can tell me if this IC can support 420whp and how many Psi??
I will run the BNR stage 3 ball bearing type.

Thanks

I think that ic is a little bit small for the boost and power you'll be making. The guys at www.rx7.com have always claimed it would support a good amount of power however. I have always felt that ic was too thick and didnt have enough surface area. I run an ASP/M2 race smic with no problems with the same basic setup you're looking at.

There is a general conscience that the ASP/M2 medium is the one of the best SMIC's. That's what I would run with that setup.

Good catch. No, they currently are not. Bryan is working on providing them as an option, but the price is of course quite a bit more.

I wonder what the spool diff will be for a non-seq setup.....is 500 rpm improvement in spool to, say, 16 psi too much to hope for?

Thanks for the info, Maybe I gonna have a deal on a front mount apexi Gt 4 rows.

Yes they are Ball bearing, it's the second one that Bryan are making. Hope they will spool fine.

I believe that the Greddy SMIC could support 375 ponies fairly well, but I think that 420 would be pushing it to the limit on that IC.

By the way, it's Greddy, not Greedy. And I believe when they spell it, they capitalize the G and R, like GReddy.

Due to pressure drop the Greddy SMIC maxed out at 404rwhp on my car with the BNRs. Since switching to a Rotary Extreme Monster VMIC I have gained a large number of bhp - hasn't been dyno'd since the switch, but it is boosting a lot higher and is significantly quicker on the butt dyno.

Yup, Greddy SMIC has major restriction in the lower cast elbow. I used calipers and various grinders to open it up ... removed 2 fluid oz of aluminum. Even ported, pressure drop at 10 psi boost and high rpm was still 75% of stock IC. For big hp, look for another IC. ASP med has low drop, as do "newer" PFS's.

You definitely need to dyno again. If you end up making more than me I wil head back to a dynojet to try and beat your number

Contact Robert White at 1918-280-8895. He can get you a brand new I/C for 250 that runs almost the length of your brace bar between your fenders. It sits at a slight angle and looks great. Plenty big enough for ya.

P.S. never found their website but a company called Godspeed makes it.

All being well I'll do that at the end of next month New engine fitted on Friday night, ran-in on Sunday, Kaaz sitting beside me to be fitted in the next couple of days then I've got Time Attack on Saturday Fairly busy for the rest of the month, but if the car makes it through Sat then I'm taking part in TOTB on the 30th July, so will try to get it on the dyno on the 29th to see if we can get a bit more out of it (est. 430-440rwhp when the engine let go last month). Best get your car ready for another dynojet visit
