He's probably getting his numbers from a dyno that reads WAAAAYYYY high..

400rwhp (reliably/done right) will cost you somewhere between 10 and 15k, you don't want to ignore the non-engine bay mods which should be attended to as well.

I've put about 15k into mine after purchase price (car was stock except for DP/Rad/intakes when I bought it) and I'm sitting on 325rwhp as measured by an Aussie dyno (equiv to about 380 US rwhp) and it is plenty fast.

Before you try to just bolt on 400whp in one go you might want to get used to driving the car at varying power levels. Otherwise you may wrap your car around a light pole or embankment, killing yourself and destroying the car. It would be a shame to have another FD bite the dust like that =(

dual oil coolers?
GM 3 bar map sensor (for reliability/accuracy)
stronger clutch to take the power?
Some gauges so you can keep an eye on things
A tuner that won't blow up your engine
15-16 pounds of boost and some ***** of steel to hang on

Any reliability mods you haven't done yet...

Did I forget anything? lol

Everything he said except I'm using a T04e and 550/1300cc inj combo. Stock ports.

Steve Kan tuned at 1bar (turbo ran out of steam at that point) I put down 391 whp. I'm doing 11.7's @ 118 at 3500 DA with 93 octane.

calm down dude. where does this forum say rotary only and where did the posted say "400 rwhp ROTARY"? considering his name has "383" in it, he might just be interested.

Once again, this section is not for other engine conversion discussions. If you have any questions, shoot me a PM.

283.1kw @ 7krpm (380bhp)
413Nm @ 5681rpm

You dont have to belive if u dont want to but thats ur deal. Im not 100% sure what conversions are from bar to psi are, but that was at 0.8bar boost. Forgive me but I THINK thats around 12psi???

Anybody with any sort of racing know how knows how street drivers lose sooo much power to not paying attention to small things like heat shields and ducts and general good finishing off of parts. Better air flow through the engine is what most mechanics just overlook to finishing off edges to a razor shrap edge in porting or proper radiuses on intakes, or port matching everything so theres no unwanted airflow disturbances, etc because its too much effort for them and its not their car.

^ Ah.... you were talking base horsepower. That is more believable, typically we don't measure bhp (meaning base, not break, horsepower) once the car starts getting modded and tuned on a dyno.

I originally showed 280 (rwhp) on a Dyno-Dynamics brand dyno at .8-.85 bar of boost. If you're showing 380 base, than that would be about 320-325 at the wheels, which is not unbelievable for 12 psi on stock twins.

What kind of dyno were your claims reported on?
