Invest it in a nice 401k, juuust as the market starts to climb.

I love it stock, but for a DP and reliabilities. Make it perfectly stock? All new interior? All new parts in the stock engine? insert rolling of eyes here. I slink away into my stock corner...

Are these other people's credit cards or what?

I just don't see spending $40k in upgrades at once.

First he said Canadian so thats around 15 - 20k USD. Tell your friend that his car is:
A) already painted
B)already has rims on it (i hope)
C) Doesnt NEED a goddam body kit...

...I hate having to say this but, if your friend doesnt KNOW what to do with that money... I suggest he makes out a signed check for the full amount and float it down a river in a bottle.

He needs to do some research on the FD before searching through 3rd parties on what he should do to it...

...my god....

Motor rebuilt and ported, Single BIG turbo (all parts needed for that), Intercooler, Haltech, big fuel injectors ect... at the end once the car is fast, go for more exterior stuff like wheels, 99' upgrades, ect...

Thats a lot of money to do a lot of stuff so sky's the limit really.

Sell you FD3S (if it's in nice condtion then there is $20,000-$35,000 cdn depending on if it's stock or modified already).

So add on your $25,000 + $40,000 = $55,000
Sounds like a used NSX in excellent condition and a couple thousand left over for some performance mods!

I would kill for an NSX, **** do I love the NSX!!!
Too bad in my opinion it's engine sucks *****! (I wanna run 25psi !!!)

I agree with what was earlier posted - sell the FD and get a new Z06 - new car, no headaches of a modded FD and high 11s out of the box

I would most likely sell the fd, buy a nice 93-95 nsx, those things are so highly reliable its amazing. Then I would spend the money off selling the fd (12-15) and mod it to my likings.

The NSX and FD are too closely matched to justify their price difference.

people keep in mind that 40k canadian is like 25k u.s. dollars. I personally would either A.) Buy a house if I didn't already have one or B.)Buy a nice daily driver car for like 15k u.s. and keep the rest saved or C.)if you really have nothing to do with the money then sell the FD, put it into getting a zo6 or some other car.

am i the only one who thinks 15k US, or even 20K US is not that much? i have a pretty much stock FD and i've already put 12k into, and it still needs a new motor, turbo and tranny work...granted, this includes labor, but i really don't think 15k buys you THAT much.

Setting aside all the debate on the wisdom of dropping that much money on a car (money he'll never get back out of the car)....

It really depends on what he wants FROM his car. Since you mention body kits and paint, you are not looking to get low E.T. Is it going to be a daily driver or a trailer queen?

My advice would be to get your friend to draw a list like the following and rank importance from 1 to 10

Paint
Body Style
Rims/Tires
Horsepower
Sound System
Reliability
Handling
etc.etc.

Ahh! LOL! Damn late night posts! Well ****, $65,000 is even better! Remember that is Canadian money... still not near enough for a Z06. (too bad, they rule)

Then again, with $65,000 why not do something crazy. Something original and cool. Who cares what people say about your FD when you weigh in at <3000lbs and have a 1200hp RB26DETT in it!!!

I agree with ttb, if he wants a body kit and rims, then went single with a good stand alone ecu, plus some tuning his money's gone.
If he spends his money wisely,(using that term loosely) he does'nt need to worry about a Z06, or NSX.
Maybee some of you guy's should have saved your money a little longer.
Eric
