go to magnus in T.O.
im sure he could exhaust that 40K mighty fast, but they'd build him a fast car for sure

$40,000 to spend and wants to run 11's? **** that's no problem and you can pocket the 1/2 of the money left over.
A 3-rotor conversion in an FD will cost you anywhere from $15,000 - $35,000 US depending on how many of your parts are used or new and where you buy them from, and how much work you do yourself or pay someone.

Depends just how much power you want to make out of it, and what you consider reliable. In my opinion, you would want to keep it under 700 rwhp to save the reliability.

Obviously you'll want a built motor and single turbo along w/ the usual bolt-on upgrades. If you've got all that money up front, consider doing some of the "little" things like having ALL the coolant and oil lines tapped to use Aeroquip hoses rather than the rubber clamp-on stuff. Make sure everything is fresh and done right from the ground up. Be realistic about what you'll REALLY use the car for... For instance, if its a street car, don't waste your money on $4K coilovers... spend it making it reliable the may Gordon Monson did... he could spent alot less on a car that was "just as fast".

You could eat you whole budget on JUST the 3-rotor swap and have nothing left over for everything else.... I think the HP you could have from a properly built 2-rotor would be plenty, and leave $$ to build a complete car.

Spend the money for a high-quallity paint job... you'll be sorry if you don't.

Enjoy, i'm envious!

Then again, with $65,000 why not do something crazy. Something original and cool. Who cares what people say about your FD when you weigh in at <3000lbs and have a 1200hp RB26DETT in it!!!
Very very nice sig. That stuff gets the juices flowing--all those that think a damn nsx is more desirable than a bridgeported rotary are out of their frickin' trees....

Cool Cash Money

The 20b conversion is the best way to go 550 hp and 460 lb ft of torque. Now that sounds like fun!!!

Paint job

I'll strip it and paint it. 13k USD. It'll be done right. No engine compartment. Unless you send it to me without the engine.

Put a down payment on a house or condo FIRST, and use the rest for a down on another used NSX..=)

I'd do the 2JZ swap

Monster horsepower out of a beautiful car RELIABLY!

I used to be a big fan of the NSX until I thought about it and realized it's STILL a honda. I'd do a 2JZ swap in an NSX too. All I know is with 40k, the last thing I'm gonna spend it on is an American car...no offense

seriously guys, if you had less money like 2000-5000, would you still recommend him to spend the money elsewhere? i have bills like the next man and i still would spend SOME of it on my car (majorityon the car, according to my figures above). 40k i would pay off all bills, down payment on a condo and with whats left the car. but if he has the money to spend soley (sp chk) on the car then go for it and your answer would be a 20b. mvamotorsport guarantees 500 hp at low boost and 800+ at hp or you don't pay anything.

Ok, I'm in...

Howzbout a down payment on a (pending) GT40. Though I'm not a domestic car fan, this really isn't a domestic car as much as an international legend.

If you HAVE to spend all the cash on a car, I'd save just a little more and get and M3...

READ PREVIOUS POSTS!!

OK people!! to the guy above me... that is like half his cash... this is in CANADIAN!!! Go look in your paper at the current dollar value of the Canadian dollar and then never look at this thread again...

Dont encourage this thread anymore... the guy should be shot if he has $20k and doesnt know what to do with it... and spending it all on a car at the drop of a hat is pretty crazy in my book, and I spend real frivilously (sp?)

And whats the retail of an M3 around $50k... uhh... he's less than 1/2 the way there... for a rediculously overpriced car... woohoo

If you really want to know what to do with that much money, I'd say use some of it to call me up (long-distance) and tell me his address. Then send me about 500 for a plane ticket. Then I will come up there and rob him... that sounds fair enough, if he has all this money and no idea what to do with it he doesnt deserve it...

AND PLEASE let this be the last post on this thread...

Buy a 3 rotor engine from Pettit Racing, and you will pretty much blow any supercar bar the Mc LarenF1. I think

If you have all of your priorities straight and really have 30-40k to blow on a 7 you have to be doing pretty darn well for yourself!

Any of the above sound great.

Ohhh. $40k CANADIAN.... why didn't he just say that from the beginning?...

In that case, he should be able to afford a K&N air filter. Then if he still has money left over, then maybe get some coffee from Tim Horton's.

You're welcome!
