recently acquired a Fd diff unit which possibly has a 4.55 ring and pinion
the ring has 41 teeth and the pinion 9 hence 4.55
the stamping on it is po8 and paint marks are 61 and 3.
can someone compare to a 4.30 ring and pinion set????

I don't own either of them, but what information are you expecting to hear that can't be figured out using math?

 

the 4.3 has 10 on the pinion and 43 on the ring. the stamping on it is P0A2. ill trade you my 4.3 for your 4.5

 

well the 4.55 is a very unique set up for the FD i am guessing it is either an aftermarket s2000 ring and pinion or custom made

 

its probably aftermarket from japan, there are a few companies that make it. iirc the s2000 ring and pinion will not fit the fd. or it could possibly be an rx8 ring and pinion, i heard those fit

There was a 4.44 offered on Yahoo quite some time ago. No idea if it was something modified to fit, it was attracting quite a few bids.

 

Where can you find a 4.77?

 

re amemiya and feed plus a couple others make 4.77s

 

anyone have some links or info about companies that may offer other gears??
