4/23/06 - Angeles Crest (SoCAL) run with my buddies.. *PIC*, 56k'ers BEWARE!!!

yesterday my buddies decided to take our cars up for a quick little tour of angeles crest, just to have some fun... Got to the gas station, filled up, and off we go! Plenty of bugati's, elise's, murciellago's, gallardo's, but no ferrari's. Also, a TON OF S2k's! Anyway, we had our own little fun bag!

Here's some pics of us!

all of us before leaving....

and at our first stop, i decided to have a little fun and take pics of some interiors...

there goes the saab interior...

SAAB 92-X (WRX chassis)

and of course, my FD

leaving...

then **** happened to the ae86....

On our way back down (after we spend 1.5 hours revvin' for fun...) the AE86 lost control and ran into the mountain.. luckily, the car wasn't damaged much if at all!

and at last... this is the result of the AE...

took them about 2.5 hours to get the tire changed out (at a shop on the bottom, since the AE was hard riding his fullsized spare...) but nevertheless, this was fun *** hell.... everyone should give it a go!

Your car looks absolutely beautiful, great job on the JDM-99 spec stuff. Your friends however need to get some sportier cars....sedans, wagons, and an AE that looks like it was beat with a baseball bat . You need to teach them the ways of the FD, or the Supra, 300xz, etc etc.

Your FD is very tasteful.

The '86 is cool too. I love how the driver's rear window is busted out.

lol yeah, they got the ae for 700 bucks w/110k on the odo. I gotta say, the AE was an AWESOME car on the twisties.... When i drove that car, it gave me WAY too much confidence for my own good. The clutch feels like it came out of a miata (which isn't light as the rx8's, but isn't as heavy as my ACT in my 7) and the shift just feels awesome. That car is also light as hell, and it is completely tossible. heh theother murc's and the elise's were too scared to go our speed lol... Anyway, it came out that we were the only one's seriously pushing our cars. the true "super cars" never came up with us, and sadly, in our footage we never got any vids of them... it was nice seeing the blue bugatti though! when the elise came up, our 86 was down already....

and yeah, those were the OEM Spirit-R e-brake boot and the shift boot and the e-brake handle and shifter (straight from japan). and YES, been trying to get my buddy to get my a spirit-R gauge cluster from japan... however, the kmph kind of kills it... I'm probably gonna leave the center black, i don't wanna start messing with painting it grey and everything.. besides, the panels are NEW... (center console cover, to the stereo console cover, to the meter hood, steering column, to my left of the mirror switches)

heh, most of the time, it was just the ae86 and me side by side, while the wrx (excuse me saab 92X) and the audi were left behind (when either me or the ae86 were leading). I have a video of our run, but it's like 45 minutes of raw footage... gonna try and edit it a little, and see if we can get some good footageon here... problem is that the camera work isn't the best..

Nice pics, love the 99 spec action. But geeze, i'm sorry but that 86 looks like complete @$$, so many things going on with that ride. I'm also hoping the seat belt hanging out thing was on purpose.
