Correct, I don't think it was an option for US spec models, but the Canadian RX-7's have these, as do the Japanese models.

The same as the ones on your hood for the winshield.
To clean the headlights off.

Yup - the Cdn cars (at least my Touring model) has the headlight sprayer/washer button there.

My car has a hole cut into that blank one and a little switch put in for the fan mod. It gets in my way though when shifting and sometimes I turn it off accidentally.

Does anyone have an extra foglight switch that I can buy so I can use that for the fanmod? it will look more stock and won't get in my way.

thanks

So do Canadian and Japenese FDs have little wipers for the headlights too? I don't think spraying wiper fluid on them would do very much to clean them.

My uncle's Bonneville had those headlight wipers. Pretty gay, if you ask me.

I saw the headlight washer in the shop manual too, yet there is no headlight washer.

I did the fan mod in the empty one too, but what i did was i moved the defroster to middle and the fan mod to the right, that way it's not in my way when shifting.

I moved it to the far right afterwards also but its still in the way when I rest my hand there sometimes. I just mainly want it to be flush just in case I turn it off and a stock switch so that it can look stock

Can't we fabricate something that makes the fan turn on at about 150 degrees when your car is warming up and stays on all the time after that so we dont have to remember to turn on the frigen fan!! anyone else that drives my car would overheat it or run lean in just 1 outing it's pathetic. It is as complicated as a race car but it's not really that fast.

I also want to make a buzzer for when the temp gets to 200 degrees so that I dont have to constantly watch the boost gauge and can be alerted to start watching it carefully after that buzzer goes off. Also another buzzer if the boost goes over a certain psi would be good too.

Good ideas or am I missing something? why didnt anyone do this stuff already? Do people like being worried all the time when they drive their rx-7s?

Yep, try using a good ecu like the PFC instead of that Pettit ****! (just kidding Snook) With the PFC (and data-logit), you can set the fans to turn on whenever you want.

Some gauges come with bright flashy red lights that will flash when you exceed a programmable value (with my new Defi link gauges, you just set the value for each gauge with the control unit, very cool!).

I just DON'T worry about stuff all the time. These cars aren't as delicate as some make them out to be. If you are constantly paranoid and worried, it sounds like owning this car may not be fun for you anymore and perhaps it's time to move on. When I first bought my FD, I couldn't believe that anyone would ever give up and sell theirs. Now, I'm a little more realistic (still not thinking about selling it though!).

You can buy a "new" fog light switch from the dealer, about $35.
I bought 2 & use one for the fan mod & the other for my intercooler fan.

If your real sharp, you can wire it so the light in the switch turns on with the switch or when you turn on your headlights

Yeah I have it in my mind that fds are super weird and unreliable cars. The other day I saw a 45 year old lady driving a r1 and I'm like omg how does she know what to do? Is she on the forum? I wonder how she didn't blow the motor yet I better tell her about the radiator end tanks and the ast hahha!
Yeah paranoid is the word and you are right I've just about had it with this car. I love it more than any other car but it's not worth the stress for me right now so I think I'll look into a supra after the new motor is put in.

I agree...on them not being as delicate as everyone makes them out to be.

I think if you keep them stock, and do your regular maintenance on them with people that KNOW the car..they're good to go.

It's when you start adding on all this crap and racing the hell outta them, that the reliability goes down.

That'll happen to any car. Sure..the FD has some design problems..but if you're smart about it...espescially after all my reading and research on this forum...the car will treat you right.
