3rd gen lower intake question
So I'm using FD housings in my S4 rx7 and I noticed that there is no groove cut in in the housing where the coolant runs out to mat with the lower intake plenum. Do 3rd gens not use a groove at all and just a gasket or sealent? Or is the groove in the lower manifold?
Thanks in advance if anyone can help
The first pic that's all orangery is my s4 housing with the groove.

I just put my short block together not too long ago, but I don't remember coolant being able to exit from there (Probably my poor memory). Anyway, even if it did, the LIM gasket would block it.
And yes, no groove.

Yea on the second gens the coolant flows through the housing, lower manifold, and then into the turbo. I figured 3rd gens did also or I would have thought there would be a plug on this..

no coolant flows thru the FD and any N/A housing. Only TurboIIs had water flowing thru there to go to the turbo as mentioned prior. The FD has the water feed and return on the water pump housing I believe.
