Not to rain on everyones "cheap parade" but for 3k you might(that's one hell of a might) be able to find one wrecked, rolled a couple times, missing the motor/tranny, but be prepared that 1k-3k won't be sh@t in the land of FD's..

And in the end you'd probably spend enough money on it that you could have bought a good running one for 13-15k to start with. BTW, be aware how expensive FD parts are(stock and aftermarket) and that even when you get it completely rebuilt you'll have tons of $$$ in maintance a year.

Again good luck but I don't think you'll have much luck. A FD without motor/transmission/missing interior usually goes for 5-6k U.S. dollars. I guess just keep an eye on ebay and check out www.cleanandfast.com to see how much wrecked FD's can go for.

Hey it's all cool, I wish you luck. And even though you are doing the work yourself, you're going to need deep pockets..

Did you know it cost about 2-4k US dollars just for an engine (this is not actually that expensive but compared to what you have in mind, its quite a bit) It's gonna cost you a bit more then that... Still, I have heard of people picking up FD's for 800bucks from friends that have destroyed them and did not know what they had so keep looking; who knows, you might get lucky

Good luck

610hp,

I might have one for you...closer to the 8K (Canadian) range. Needs drivetrain but good body. It'll go on ebay within a week unless I can get a good price for it before then. I live in T.O... car will be in Buffalo.
