I swaped a Jspec motor in the car just fine and had stock ECU at the time. It was a motor and tranny that's it.

Remember the Jspec has no EGR and the lower intake manifold is different no egr fittings.

Everything bolts up no problem. Just remember to buy new motor mounts.

Just motor and tranny. Used the harness that was in my car and I had a US CA ECU at the time. There will be some wires that have to be clipped a bit and few modifications. The car was single turbo at the time so it was a bit easier. We didn't have to worry about all the vaccume lines and such.

My friend did the swap in two days, he's a rotary mechanic or GOD. Just have it done by someone who knows rotaries and it will be fine.

Hope you have a smog hook up though...no EGR...no legal smog.

A JDM motor should run you anywhere from 1500-2500. Don't think that will include tranny though. It's always a grab bag it's like buying a used Rx7. You never really know the condition of the motor.

I was lucky the motor i bought was good but the stock turbos were fried. The Tranny was fresh and there was a MAZDASPEED 3 puck clutch in it *bonus*. After the clutch wore i saved the disk cuz it had MAZDASPEED stamped in it ahah.
