3k hesitation question

As most FD's my car will randomly decide to do its 3k hesitation. Just a little "hiccup" at half pedal and life is back to normal. I have had the car a few years and it has never bothered me. About 4 times in the time I have owned the hesitation was more than a little hiccup. It was like a minor seizure and then, just like nothing happened and on with life.

I have heard (and I forgot where which is why I am asking) that I should change my oxygen sensor and that it would get rid of those very uncommon 3k seizures.

Is this true?

Haven't heard of the oxygen sensor being the culprit, but better grounding didn't do it for me....If you decide to get a new sensor tell us how it goes.

A Mazda screwup in the ECU programming.
Some of those fixes work for some but none of them work for all.

The only true fix is the Apexi PFC ecu.

(March 1992 FD owner since June 1992.)

Fixed mine by just grounding on the rear engine loop (behind the UIM on PS side).

Your FD doesn't have 3k hiccups? Something must be wrong with it! lol jkjkjk

Ill order that grounding kit tomorrow.

cewrx7r1, You have had an FD since 92? I applaud you! Do you still have the car you bought in 92?

I have heard the PFC is the best fix from some. I would LOVE a PFC but my car is stock and I really don't NEED it. I would get one if they were a little cheaper

Even a stock car can benefit from a PFC

I know! I really really want one but getting a new ast, radiator, fpd and a working set of turbos takes priority over it right now. maybe if I save up it can be the awesomest Christmas present I have ever got myself!

All grounds helping some, I've found the one that was factory that goes away and most eliminate when upgrading there exhaust. Is the one that bolted to the chasis and the bolt where the main cat and cat back bolt together (adding this one mde the biggest difference) for ma any way.

hrm, you know i never had a problem with it until i attacked my solenoid rack for new hose...

like, it was non-existant in my FD, until i pulled the solenoid rack out to replace everything, then it was terrible.

Im hoping to pop a PFC into place to get rid of it once my winter project is all set up.
