Other than the weatherstripping and ABS, those are pretty common problems. However, it's uncommon to have them all happen at once.

Barban:

When did you purchase the car? Did you not inspect the car upon purchase?

If the car was in good shape, prior to all of these minor things, then you can't blame the previous owner. Quite honestly, a door handle that was functioning properly a couple of weeks ago, and later snaps, is just the luck of the draw. The headlight cover, just needed the screws to be tightened. The weatherstripping....well...what do you expect....it is rubber and has aged. The ABS light, is part of your suspension. Inspect your brakes. The sway bar mount can be replaced. I have heard of the mounting points being cracked.

The rusted muffler. Well, time to buy a new muffler.

The point is, don't hastily blame the seller. You purchased an almost 10 year old car. What do you expect??? I believe that you were glossy eyed when you looked at the car and failed to take a good hard look at it. Then again, you need to have a realistic view of USED cars. Especially, older used cars.

Do you remember getting in any wrecks, recently? Sometimes a bad crash makes it hard to remember things.

AND the gas cap? Sounds like you bought your car from an AUCTION! Most of these problems are bound to happen... But yeah... All at once?

My gas door has been broken... And the driver door handle needed to be replaced.. A few coolant hoses... Etc... But it was over the course of 2 years.

Good news is, once you get all the **** fixed... It's all good. These cars are 10 years old...

its like 99 for a newone, 50 from www.mazdarecycling.com. easy to install yourself.

the other one brke off on the side
see above

my door handle broke
if its the interior door handle its like 199.00, if its the exterior door handle its about 199. easy to install yourself.

my passenger door weatherstripping came loose
glue it on with adhesive glue. its about $5.00 for a tube at pepboys.

my muffler rusted out
buy a new one, or a used one. I have a used catback for sale, its a bit loud though. You can get a used catback for $200 or less

my ABS light is on
thats just a loose sensor. dont know how to fix it, but it takes like 10 seconds.

my swaybar snapped itself loose of any connection to my suspension
This I dont know.

suggestions?
*** see above
price quotes?
help me god b4 i kill the guy that sold it to me
I think its like real cheap to fix your car. think of all the idiots who paid full price for a -7- with a blown engine.

Have a nice day.

My headlight covers flew off also. I think the adhesive they used to bond the aluminum to the fiberglass brackets dosen't hold up.

mine broke where the plastic hinges are. I glued mine on with silicon about a year ago, both are still good, and you cant tell.

Welcome to the 3rd Gen RX-7! The day I bought mine I ran it out and blew off the turbo coolant hose. + a lot of little stuff I forgot like missing\broken interior parts. The interior I knew about but the hose I wasn't expecting. Malloy Mazda is good for new parts and I see you've already have some links to MazdaRecycling...

awe thats cool, thanks.

BTW..When I got my Rx7 It was leaking from the coolant over flow tank, the driverside door handle broke, passengerside window would not go up or down, my coolant perculated, I had a million near bouts with over heating, my boost was screwed up, my front rotors were warped, my radiator fan was dead, bushings were all worn out, etc.

I can go on and on. I fixed all of these and my car has to be one of the best daily driven FD's (I put 30K miles last year).

Let me leave you with a quote from a forum member. I read this in some thread.

"Treat your FD with respect and it will love you back in ways only a 3rd gen Rx7 owner could know. Treat your FD bad and it will torment you in ways you cant comprehend" Anyway, thats a realistic quote, lol.

Ha Ha, here's mine, 5th gear synchro gone, oil leak, (oil pan/motor mounts) crappy interior peices....stutters after 5k rpm (hoping it's spark plugs), quiet backfires at idle, more like blurps, boosts good until 5k, sometimes doesn't want to go at around 3k rpm. damn.....

I bought my car with a new motor with no miles... but check this out.

Wiring harness was destroyed... all the vacuum hoses were broken or wrong, ast was busted, tires were flat spotted, rotors and pads were bad, motor mounts were bad, coolant pipe under the manifold was busted, turbo's were blowing oil, downpipe was leaking, cat was leaking, weather stripping was falling off, and to top it off the car was too highly modified for the fuel system and EMS, and there were no gauges to monitor anything!

So in 4 months I've fixed/replaced everything but the motor mounts and struts, and had to buy a standalone, fuel pump, injectors, gauges, and gauge pods.

And to top it off, in 7,000 miles I've still never even gone WOT with the car or any FD ever... because it hasn't been tuned yet. (HAHA to all of you who say you can't drive a highly modified FD on the stock EMS!!! All it takes is some serious restraint)

Non-Seq twins are going in right now, and EMS tuning will begin!
