While I kind of am kind of not surprised there isn't an answer to this question in our community, I was wondering if anyone at all has found a "close enough" filament that matches the red interior and tan interior of our cars. I've always printed my interior items in black even though my interior is red, just because I thought black looked fine and because I have NO IDEA how many red ABS filaments I can go through before I go completely broke
I have a couple of swatches for red filaments. The ones that are the closest for me are filaments made by Bambu Labs. But the closest one according to my door card and plastics is a PLA filament. And well.... That's not gonna survive in a hot car. And the ABS filament is too bright. (ABS-40200 red on the left and PLA Basic-10205 red on the right)
So if anyone who either prints for their car personally or as a company that makes 3d printed goods for our cars has any input on what ABS/ASA filament from what brand has the best color match to red and tan interiors so that people can make parts for their cars and not have to paint them for their interior.
I've been trying to work on this as well. Please disregard the crappy prints, but the left part is "Candy Apple" PETG, the right is "Dark Cherry Red" PETG by Atomic filament. It seems that the stock red varies a bit as it is.
Was about to tag @need-a-t2 when I saw this thread but seems I'm late to the party lol. I sent up some spare parts I had a little bit ago, but all credit to him for doing the actual R&D!
