3800 RPM hesitiations

I've only had my car out twice since purchasing it a few weeks ago, but both times i've had problems with it around 3800 rpm it seems to hesitate so i push the throttle harder and it's fine after 4000. I called one of my friends who had mentioned this to me earlier, he didn't know anything about it really or how to fix it but had heard alot of people having trouble with it...So i've searched around and gotten lots of info but its varied from rip apart your car and burn it tocast magic spells to clean your injectors to ground your negative battery terminal...can anyone give me a better idea of whats causing this and where the best place to start is...

Symptoms:
-always at night ( only time i've driven it though) and around 3800 rpm
-always on highway
-stereo is always on at about half volume(no subs or amplifiers though)
-doesn't do it everytime i hit 3800 rpm there seem to be no real similarities in my driving pattern other then i'm excelerating

Other issues (may or may not be related)
-My stereo shuts off on me but isn't nessecarily during the hesitiation it seems like it shuts off when i hit boost and comes right back on
-It feels SOOOOOO slow i had an MX3 with a KLZE in it and right now it feels like the KL was faster(this shouldn't be, should it?)
-Speedometer seems to almost float IE: I look down and the speedo reads 180 plus BUT im moving slower then then the other traffic on the highway and if i let off the throttle it SOMETIMES occrects itself to around 100 or 110 KM/H.

What are your mods? How many miles (kilometers) are on the car?

Judging by the problems you listed, I would assume that you have some kind of electrical problem. As far as the 3k hesitation you are referring to, there is no guaranteed fix other than buying a PFC (which seems to correct the problem completely). Whether or not that is what you are experiencing is another story tho.

i had the same hesitation problem and it turned out my compressions were a bit low. Basically my engine started to give out. If its the same thing, ide hate to break it to you man but i think you might be needing a rebuild or a new engine.

I've got similar problem but only happens in either 4th gear or 5th gear under full throttle at about 3500rpm... it jurks sort of thing... but it goes away... I drive my car daily so it rarely sees boost... maybe thats why in my case...
