3000GT TT turbos? an upgrade for fd?

I can get my hand on a set of 3000gt turbos (twin mitsu TD04s).... WOuld that be an upgrade over stock twins? I have my twins running non-seq. How hard would it be to adapt them to fit? Would it be a good upgrade? Anyone know where I could get a manifold to fit it?

Thanks...

Sounds like a major PITA to me, the 300GT is a V6 so you get one turbo on each side of the motor. Now imagine trying to fit both of them on one side of the 13B, getting a manifold for it, fabricating some sort of downpipe for both of them that will fit (yeah right!) etc. For the amount of money it would take to get it to work right (with used turbos) you could buy a nice new single turbo setup probably.

i've heard it the other way around ... that stock FD turbos can be an upgrade for a 3000GT. supposedly, the stock turbos can handle as much as 20psi. probably not reliably but possible.

if you're looking for turbo upgrades, why not just look for a set of Garrett's?

Mitsubishi Heavy Industry TD04 turbine is pretty old.
Do you have a maniforld for this turbine?

Some of my friends have twin turbine 13B motor.
Most of them use HKS one.
TD 06, 07 and 08 have been minorchanged many times.
They are good turbine.
But TD 05 and 04 haven't.

mionor changed?
You mean different variations of? hybrids from the same housing? If so, then you are very mistaken. There's many TD04 setups, and an almost infinite number of TD05 (thanks to us DSM guys )

As for the vr-4 turbos. I wouldn't touch them. The stock 9b's are ****! Even all of the hybrids that the 3/s crowd has come up with still have a BIG problem with flow, and while those guys will not listen to me, TD05 is their answer (manifold for their cars are just too expensive)
If you want to get crazy with your Fd and slap on some mitsu turbos, go with something besides the TD004. It'll have to be a custom job anyways, so you might as well get a housing that will flow wirth a ****.

Too much work for me. I don't think they would fit though.

I think it would be a pretty sweet idea. If you have your hands on the turbos just make a manifold. There you go, cost efficent aftermarket twin setup.

Hi phatmonky

You are right.
There are many setups for all the TD turbines.
I didn't mean that. sorry my English is too poor.

TD turbines were released about 15 years ago or more.
We want to have more power and good response.
Then, TRUST (Greddy) has released so many hybrid tiubines.
Which have small exhaust and big compressor conbinations.
But this combination caused high exhaust pressure.
It is very bad for the engines.
So, Mitsubishi HI has modified the shape of exhaust fins
and inlet induces of 06 and 07 several times.
But I think 04 and 05 haven't.
I wanted to say this.
If not, I'm sorry. I have to learn more.
