FD lover or not an FD is nothing to those cars and don't start on the it can be just as fast sh*t cause ya know what so can a Civic. the rims... though unique are ugly as sin colorwise with a silver car... just not my taste but its not my car.
and wtf... you just lost ALL credibility you have in the car world by calling a Ferrari GERMAN! come on dumbass... try again.
Pugg..
Ferrari's are made in Italy..
are you happy, now??
the Modena/360 is nice and all, i would love to have one.
But they are slow. I raced one in the 1/4 at a local
hangout/strip in MD, called " METRO", couple of years
ago, with only a intake, cb. Granted I lost.
but the Ferrari only beat me by like a Car length.
I hear my race was digitally recorded and floating
out int eh internet somewhere.
Never raced a 911turbo, but it will be interesting
with my T78 set up.. Thre is 911turbo thats
always parked in the shopping center next to my shop.
I can't wait till I catch him on the road or his ashton martin.
Put a Mspeed or Feed or RE body kit on your fd.
it will beat the 911 and give the Ferrari a run
for their money in rubber necking appeal..

Call me when you find a picture of a high-end car (like a Ferrari, Porsche, or lotus) with *three spoke* black wheels with a *red stripe* on them. Get the Idea? Nobody's trying to ream the guy out, but i think particularly parked next to cars like that, it highlights how ricey those wheels are, thats all... just an opinion, If he likes em, great.
Whenever i consider an exterior or appearance mod, I always start with the question, "Would I do this to my Ferrari, Mercedes, or Porsche"... if you do this, you'll surprised how often the answer is "No. Leave it alone".
However, I think when you look at the overall lines of the car... it really shows that it hasn't aged a bit, and looks at home parked next to almost anything.

There is no way to call that hood over the top on a car with that much power(think Viper) The wheels are rare, and about the only good looking three-spokes ever. Unless your posting up a pic of your car for everyone to tear apart, don't run your moulth.

...and no, i'm not happy now... you still said it was German. either lazy or stupid... whatever. no matter what you try to do to it, there is nothing exotic about a car that 90% of the population could afford if they felt like it. that's like saying that a very heavily modded FD and a McLaren F1 LM are in the same ballpark... or that an FD with a ricey widebody kit has the same curbappeal as an Enzo. its simply not the truth

Think about it this way, there are Civics out there that are faster than FDs or E36 M3s but in the end it's platform is based on a little economy car.
Same goes for the FD, modded it might be just as fast or faster as the 911 or Modena but in the end it's platform is not as nice, not as well engineered, lower quality materials used, etc... It is a Japanese sports car not a exotic.
FYI, I wasn't the one that said the Ferrari was German.
TYVM.....
A Ferrari is a Ferrari and a Porshe is a Porshe.
with price tags well over 100K. Granted they are
nice and fast in stock trim. BUT if the FD had a
MSRP was 100K plus, Sure it will BE Fast as hell
in stock form with exotic materials and so forth..
You call body kits and etc rice??
So i take the 911 is Factory RICE..
Since the platform never changed, and a 2004 911
is the same 911 built in 84, with a factory body kit,
headlights and a wing.. Right?
I never intended to compare FD's to truely exotic
porshes, ferraris, lambos or the F1's.
I was just saying.. You can make a FD, look as good
and as fast as those .. thats all.

if the FD had an MSRP of 100k it would be ranked with those cars... but it didn't and it isn't. can't take into account things that never happened.
factory rice? contradiction. essentially not changed and not changed at all since 1984 are two separate things. the power has increased... its not the same car. so no, its not just an 84 with a body kit. as for making an FD look like an exotic by adding a widebody kit? that's a matter of opinion, but i REALLY don't think many people would agree with you as to the BETTER looking comment. i know i for one would not.
Why do you guys have to flame him, basically all he is saying is that he is proud and loves his FD so in his eyes it is and exotic car. Not many of us can afford a true exotic, in other words an FD is would be exotic to the average working person.
As far as the wheels go, I'm sure that there was a time that many of us wanted those wheels up until people started putting them on ricey looking cars.
No need to flame the guy, like I said he is just proud of his car which I believe many of us are..

Yeah, I don't think enough people are giving credit to this guy. Those are great picts!, thanks.
And another thing is that regardless what anybody on here thinks, the FD is more than worthy of being placed amongst those cars. Hell its more unique than those other two cars combined. So I don't appreciate some people disrespecting it, just because its less expensive. I would be proud to have all three cars in my garage
.
On a side note: yes the rims aren't my flavor either, but it's to your own opinion. Actually I don't think there that bad, I'm sure they are light and cost. But to be flat out disrespecting them, is immature.

I have driven all three cars, and sorry to say I got twice the looks in my FD(color may be part of it as both others were just plain silver) than I did in the 360 F1 and the Porsche is nice but, it dont have the legs my car does and it got no where near the looks the other two did, I have a few good porsche mechanic friends and they all say they are built for crap, I was very suprised to hear it.
I see it like this, the guy in ferrari could have your FD faster or not, he chose the ferrari, you cannot say the same. However my arguement back when people throw that at me is I built my car from the ground up it is what I think a fast car should be, I didnt rely on porsches opinion of what they think is fast enough or good enough for me, that's the choice I can make, while most of them can not.
About the 360F1 it may only be a high 12 second car and I may not of got the looks I get in my FD.
but after spending the time I did with it, I will own one it was a really nice piece of work. The engine and transmission is awsome.

Dont understand why people want against mod car. NO mater what car, there are always Improvemt you can do Even PORSCHE or Ferrari. SO all you guys aginst mod car think (RUF,TECHART GemBALLA for porsche),(Hartge,HamannMotorsport,AC Schnitzer for BMW) (BARBUS. AMG). HAMMAN Koenig for Ferrari. IJ your option there are all RICER's company
I dont see why you guys want to call my car Rice car. RICE= Useless mod or stubid mod. I dont see neither of them on my RX7
Why you guys judge car by it's money VALUE???? 3gen RX7 is very Unigue. it got timeless design,(even now the car still look nice compare to similar car design in 1991). almost NO compromise on any thing. and power by RE

My $.02 is that the other cars have stock Bodies, and stock wheels, hoods, so it would make it a more harmonious picture if you did as well, or if your aftermarket parts / wheels, matched the paint, like the other two do...
I'm not hating, I'm just saying that you're the odd ball in that pic, now if it had been a AMG with black BBS's and a BMW M3 with the same that would have been different...
I also realize that it wasn't a situation where you could just run home and swap hoods, and wheels... so it's a cool find to have two other sports cars you admire, and yours in silver parked by the side of the road...

the porsche platform did change, 69 to 86(911 and the turbo is called 930), 87 to 89(still 911 but some of the chassis was different and tranny was also) 90 to 94 (c2 and c4) 95 to 98 (993) and 99 to present day (996, all porsches made after 98 are water cooled, all 98 and before 911s were air cooled)
Come on... 360 modena slow???? 400 hp, all aluminum chassis and body, @ only 3000 lbs with ac and leather seats?? no, the modena is fast, ive driven a few, F1 tranny and 6 speed manual, and they are not slow..
anyway quit messin with this guy, he likes his car and what it looks like, who gives a f... what anybody else thinks. you dont like it, cool, dont do that to your car then. and the third gen is an exotic in a sence, its a twin turbo, rotary, in a 2700 lb 50/50 weight car.... how many other cars have that... none. it might not cost $120k, but thats why there great cars.

The Fd is as close to a exotic as your going to get without the exotic price tag, it has all the good and bad features all exotics have, good looks great performance, low numbers, and high maintenence costs, the biggest problem with these cars is most people can afford to buy them now, but not most can afford to own it.
