2nd turbo isnt boosting.

ok, so when i accelerate, my first turbo is fine @ about 11 psi, but when my 2nd is suppsoed to come in @ around 4500 rpm, my boost drops and im make about 1-2 psi, or maybe even none. A weird thing that happens is that when i release the gas afterwards, i hear like a echo come from my exhaust. I only hear it when my 2nd turbo is suppsoed to be boosting. Anyone have any ideas of whats wrong? popped vaccum line maybe? let me kno thnx

Replace those stock vacuum hoses with some new high quality silicon ones. It might solve the problem, or it might not, but since it's so cheap and easy to do, that doesn't matter because it should be done anyway.

Just check the 2 vacuum lines going into the pressure chamber that is located between UIM and front strut bar. Chance is that one of them popped off. I had that happeend 3 times so far, now I clamped it down with some small clamps.

Non-sequential is for people giving up

Don't listen to this guy, he is smoking crack on the cheap and easy to do part.

Try this, vent the CRV to air and drive the car. See if you hear the air rushing out of the CRV after 4500 or not.

This will help narrow a few things down.

Another small thing to quickly check is to make sure you have the check valve to the pressure chamber in the correct direction.

There is a good thread on the last page of the Archives that details how to diagnose boost issues. I suggest you read it thoroughly and check it out. Diagnosing and fixing boost issues is a huge PITA and is the #1 reason why people go sequential or single turbo.

Since you are in Cali, I'm sure there are many good rotary specialists nearby. If you don't have the resources to do it yourself, give one of them a call. It is a biatch!

i'm trying to diagnose a similar problem. i will definatly vent the CRV today and listen for a woosh, but the issue isn't happening all the time. i get 4psi myself. only about 1/5th the time. of course this is the only time i get the funky "echo" (maybe air being pulled backwards through the CRV once i hit vaccum?).

-edit, sorry for the post in 2 threads majik but the older one i bumped hasn't been answered so i figured i'd jump in this one with another "me too".
