Question 2nd Turbo -- Does it Hurt Anything?

Boost guage indicates that the second trubo is not coming online currently. Until we check out the normal suspects, does it hurt anything (other than performance) to drive a FD with the second turbo malfunctioning?

Thanks for any help.

10 8 5 and then
This was with the temporary out the window through the hood line setup so it was hard to get a good reading holding the guage. But for sure the first turbo went to 10 then a drop but then it dropped instead of climbing for the second

We are going to hard install the gauge this weekend, but the feel is pretty clear boost, less boost and then minimal boost
thanks

Most likely a problem with the control system (solenoids/check valves/vacuum hoses), which is usually a nightmare to diagnose.

You can drive the car as-is, but I wouldnt recommend beating on it.

im not that well versed in the subject. but i can tell you i drove my fd when i first bought it, with a 6-0-0 boost pattern, for over a month. and i occasionally got on it....well, i got on the first turbo all the time, but there was never a need to take it higher than 4500rpm, the car was slllooow past that.

other than it damaging the turbo itself(if it will?) i dont see how it could damage the engine having less or no boost..... but like i said....im not that versed in the subject....

if you are still trying to figure out the problem, the pattern seems to me to be a faulty soleniod. the boost would prob read around 7 for the secondary turbo if it was the pre-spool hose...

So -- would a vacuum leak, solenoilds, check valves "harm" anything other than the low boost??

You need to download the vacuum hose diagram and go through everything. It could be broken/popped off line, failed actuator, lots of possibilities. I would certainly not drive the car much until you know what the problem is.
